My darling rose is not a fan of Christmas, so I made this crochet string bauble for her.  It has rustic charm, a lovely handmade feel and isn't too Christmassy, so I'm hoping to bring her round!  If you hadn't twigged before I am a massive Christmas fan, currently string obsessed, and if I have the chance I'll be whipping up of few of these using different strings for my home.

(The pattern can be bought as a pdf for the really teeny price of $1.25from my Etsy shop) xxx

I quite literally can't get enough of crotcheting with string at the moment, there's something that's beautifully old-school and utility about it.  Here's a little pattern for a little bottle that I did at the beautiful Butler's Emporium this morning.  It would work beautifully scaled up on old jam jars I think...

So sorry for such a long silence, we've had a whole host of things going on including funerals and the like, and finally getting back to some sort of normality.  Here's a free little pattern as a thank you for your patience and is just about the cutest lil thing.  I wanted to wear some heather from my garden, so whipped up a little basket pendant to go on the end of a chain.  Right pleased with the result...

My most lovely friend that is teaching me how to actually sew rather than fudging things together, has so far, very tolerantly, made 2 skirts and a pair of trousers with me.  This week as an excercise in how to take a pattern from something, she made a pattern of my favourite bag (read 'sack') and we stitched this puppy up in an evening.  I will work out how to make it in to a printable pdf so you can all have a copy too, but for now here's how it looks - and yes, it is made out of 80's  curtain fabric.

Here we are lovelies, and just in time for the first day of autumn (which is my favourite season, just because of the amount of knitwear you can drape yourself in).  One pattern, any feedback would be much appreciated.

This pattern is now available for the tiny price of $4.00 from my Etsy Shop xxx
