A long time ago now I wrote a post about the many uses of a cereal box.  Other materials will always come and go but the cereal box is a staple when it comes to crafting with the beasts.

I haven't shared any of these for ages, but am so in love with the firstborns lobster I'm even considering getting it tattooed on me for all eternity.

So here is Atlantis through the medium of cereal boxes, tadaa!

I just want to take a minute to say how awesome my sewing machine is. We've been together for 6 years, and she's never let me down.  We've had our moments, a few tears, some cross words but we always make up in the end.

A complete sticker bombing, curtains. appliqué patches, skirts, shirts, a Viking tabard and one abstract but very lovely moth sketch.  Too many layers of denim at once, a ridiculous amount of velvet and some godforsaken voile, we've been through and we're still together.

Dear sewing machine, thanks and I promise one day I will properly clean all the fluff off you xxx

So we moved house AGES ago, and at long last have the space and energy for some making again - it feels really good.

Big beast had a last minute costume party invite, and rather than swathing him in a polyester hero suit from a store we made our own, together, this morning.  A simple tabard from a rectangle of fabric, and some scraps and buttons for appliqué patches and voila.  The design is all his, I am insanely proud, and we had the best time.

The crochet hammer and helmet were made for the book, and the pattern will be on Etsy soon.
